High-quality staff magazine for Barratt Redrow
Essential internal communication for a national organisation
Client: Barratt Redrow
Sector: Home construction | Internal communications
Barratt Redrow is one of the largest residential property development companies in the United Kingdom, leading the industry on quality, service and sustainability. The company approached Dialogue to take on the creation of its employee publication, Foundations, which is used to engage its almost 8,000 employees in print and digital formats, depending on whether they are office-based or site-based workers.
Dialogue overhauled the design of the magazine to bring it in line with Barratt Redrow’s recent rebrand, creating an attractive, reader-friendly publication with subtle graphic elements and a colour palette based on the new branding.
The remit
- Design
- Editorial

The Dialogue team works closely with Barratt Redrow stakeholders to shape content that communicates with all staff to inform them about the business’ performance and construction sector issues. It is an essential tool to highlight the benefits and support networks available to staff, such as Mosaic, which celebrates cultural, racial and religious diversity within the company, and SheBuilds for women on site. The publication also gives colleagues a voice and showcases the fantastic work of people inside the business, whether it’s exceptional customer service or charitable efforts. The balance of news, features, interviews and infographics gives the magazine pace and relevance to staff, keeping the tone accessible and inclusive.
Dialogue has helped Barratt Redrow achieve its employee engagement mission. In its most recent employee survey, which achieved an 80% response rate, employees indicated a 5% improvement in employee wellbeing and communication, of which Foundations magazine is a key cornerstone.
